8. Swelling in the Face or Neck
Swelling in the face or neck may occur if a lung tumor presses against the superior vena cava, a large vein that carries blood from the upper body to the heart. This condition, known as superior vena cava syndrome, is often associated with advanced stages of lung cancer.
Symptoms of superior vena cava syndrome can include swelling, redness, and visible veins in the chest. While rare, this condition is a serious warning sign that requires immediate medical attention.
